Brighton Avenue School
Brighton Avenue School in Atlantic City, New Jersey is a Pre-Kindergarten through fifth-grade neighborhood school with a proud history of serving the families of the Westside community. Known for its warm, family-centered environment, the school fosters strong relationships with students, parents, and community partners to support academic and social growth. Recently, Brighton Avenue School joined the district’s cutting-edge esports initiative, giving young learners access to a state-of-the-art esports club that promotes teamwork, STEM skills, and modern digital learning. The school is also recognized for its strong collaborations with stakeholders, including local organizations, families, and city partners, who work together to bring enriching experiences to students. Signature community events such as the annual Fall Fest and Winter Giveaway provide families with joyful celebrations, essential resources, and meaningful connections, making Brighton Avenue School a true hub of support, innovation, and community pride.

It is the mission of Brighton Avenue School to encourage and develop the excellence of students and staff. We will provide a safe and supportive environment while implementing research-based best practices and the use of technology. It is our goal to empower all students with the knowledge, skills, and integrity needed to contribute and succeed as responsible, lifelong learners in a competitive global community.

Educators of the Year
Brighton Avenue School is proud to announce our 2025 Governor’s Educator of the Year honorees: Ms. Katelyn McLaughlin, our dedicated and innovative 5th grade teacher, has been selected as Teacher of the Year, and Ms. Michele Browne, our caring and committed Pre-School Paraprofessional, has been named Educational Services Professional of the Year. Brighton Avenue School is truly fortunate to have these two exceptional educators as part of our magical journey this year.
